Jenny Dubnau’s new work consists of large-scale, photo-based paintings of flowers, shown together with mostly frontal self-portraits. The flowers take on an anthropomorphized, psychological feeling in the portraiture context, and the portraits can be seen as natural objects. The work raises issues of beauty, aging, and flawed vulnerability.
